New Hannah Storm Journalism Intern Named
Joshua Flynt, a rising Notre Dame junior, was recently selected as the Alumni Association’s 2009-2010 Hannah Storm Journalism Intern.
Flynt, who is from Malta, N.Y., is an English major who has been actively involved in journalism as a writer for Scholastic. He also writes for the University’s Sports Information Department.
Throughout the academic school year, Flynt will work closely with the alumni editor to write articles for various alumni communications, including ND Today.
Hannah Storm ’83 became first female sports anchor at CNN in 1989 before moving to NBC Sports in 1992, where she worked for a decade. During her tenure at NBC, Hannah anchored the network's Olympic coverage and served as host for the NBA and Major League Baseball. She later moved to CBS to co-anchor “The Early Show.” Most recently, Storm was named the co-anchor of a SportsCenter morning edition on ESPN. Storm also chairs The Hannah Storm Foundation, which provides help for children with disfiguring or debilitating birthmarks.
The Hannah Storm Journalism Internship is funded by proceeds from Storm’s book titled Notre Dame Inspirations and the Hannah Storm Foundation.
