Gameday.nd.edu Welcomes Fans to ND Football
The University has several new initiatives, including a special game-day website, designed to help you make the most of the 2009 Fighting Irish football season.
Plan your football weekend
Notre Dame has created a new website, gameday.nd.edu, that gives ND football fans a “one-stop shop” for a total game-day experience. Now you can plan your game day before you even arrive on campus!
The website details all campus activities taking place during home-football weekends, including the new Hospitality Village on the Irish Green, which features food and entertainment for the whole family.
Visit gameday.nd.edu to peruse the lineup of weekend events—such as Masses, tours, football luncheons, seminars, and pep rallies—and build your personal game-day schedule.
First stop
Make your first stop the Eck Visitors Center. Experience the magic of Notre Dame by viewing “Spirit of du Lac”—a short film that chronicles Notre Dame’s tradition and commitment to excellence. Sign up for campus tours and survey the new buildings at Notre Dame. Be sure to sign in to let your classmates know you were there.
Pep rallies
Due to the construction in the Joyce Center, Friday-night pep rallies will take place at a variety of campus locations during the 2009 season. They are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evenings, and no tickets are required for admission.
The Notre Dame-USC rally on Oct. 16 will be held at a location to be determined, possibly in Notre Dame Stadium.
The Notre Dame-Connecticut rally Nov. 20, prior to the final Irish home game, will be held in the new Purcell Pavilion on the arena side (south dome) of the Joyce Center.
Four other Friday pep rallies—Sept. 18 (Michigan State), Oct. 2 (Washington), Oct. 23 (Boston College) and Nov. 6 (Navy)—will be held outdoors at the new Hospitality Village at the Irish Green, south of the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center on the south edge of campus.
Hospitality Village at Irish Green
On football Fridays and Saturdays, be sure to stop by the new Hospitality Village at the Irish Green, south of the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. It is in operation from 3:00-6:30 p.m. Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to one half hour before kickoff Saturday for each Notre Dame home football game.
The area is free and open to the public. It features entertainment on a main stage (including bands and speakers), plus roaming “kid-friendly” entertainment around the grounds. Food and beverages (including beer) are available for purchase,—and the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore and other vendors are on site.
Buying and selling tickets
Members of the Notre Dame alumni community can buy and sell* Notre Dame football tickets using the NDAA Ticket Consignment Program. If your tickets are sold through this program and then later resold by someone else for more than face value, you will not be liable for violating the University’s resale policy.
Registered users can buy available tickets through Irish Online for face value plus a small transaction service fee. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis, and purchase limits may apply. Purchased tickets can be picked up at the Alumni Association will call window at Gate 3 in the Joyce Center on game day.
Game day ticket sales also take place at Gate 3 of the Joyce Center. The sales window will open to alumni and students 4 ½ hours before kickoff (game day sales open to the general public 3 ½ hours prior to kickoff).
Learn more about the NDAA Ticket Consignment Program, including how to sell tickets.
*Listing football tickets on the NDAA Ticket Consignment website does not guarantee they will be sold.
Saturday Scholars Series
You are invited to experience an intimate discussion with Notre Dame’s most engaging faculty speakers on some of the most pressing and fascinating issues of our times.
Each lecture and Q&A is presented in the Snite Museum’s Annenberg Auditorium at noon on home-game Saturdays. There also will be a lecture before the Oct. 31 game versus Washington State University in San Antonio. Visit the Saturday Scholars website for complete details. No tickets are required for any of the lectures. View the lecture dates and topics.
