ND Senior Lourdes Long, president of GreeND, hopes the popularity of the issues—as well as the 2008 ND Forum on Sustainable Energy—will increase student involvement with energy issues in the coming year. Latin American Alumni Celebrate First Reunion
The spirit of Notre Dame is that indescribable feeling that alumni get when they set foot on campus; and thousands of alumni attend reunions on campus each year to recapture that feeling. But what about alumni who live a long distance away? Is it possible to recreate that feeling of “coming home” away from the Golden Dome? The answer was a resounding “yes” from the more than 300 alumni from 16 countries who attended the University’s inaugural Latin American and Caribbean Reunion June 5-8. [Full Story]

Sharing the History of Our Lady’s University
In an effort to preserve Notre Dame history, the Alumni Association launched the ND Oral History Project last fall with the goal of recording and sharing the stories of our alumni—stories of their time at Notre Dame and their experiences and accomplishments since graduating. These stories not only document the history of Our Lady’s University; they embody the character, tradition, and ideals of the entire Notre Dame family.  Now, the NDAA has launched the ND Oral History website, complete with the first segment of edited stories and photos. Each story, which will be available for download at alumni.nd.edu/oralhistory, averages 3 to 4 minutes in length.  In addition to publication on the ND Oral History website, the complete interview recordings will be stored in the University Archives allowing future Domers to hear first-hand accounts of Notre Dame history for years to come.  Be sure to visit alumni.nd.edu/oralhistory to experience Notre Dame history for yourself!

Basilica Masses No Longer Televised
Due to programming changes, Sunday Mass from the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Notre Dame no longer will be broadcast on the Hallmark Channel.
The University currently is seeking a future broadcast partner but, in the meantime, has made the Sunday Mass available via a live video stream at http://basilica.nd.edu/. The 10 a.m. Mass currently is being streamed, and, during the academic year, the 11:45 a.m. Mass will be streamed live. Both also are available for download.  New York-based Faith & Values Media, which produced the Mass for Hallmark, exercised an option in its contract that reduced its religious programming from five to two hours. For the past six years, Mass from Notre Dame has aired on Hallmark, and it aired on DIRECTV in 2007.  For more information, or if you would like to provide feedback, click here.
