Read the ‘Untold’ Stories of Notre Dame
Notre Dame’s Golden Dome is one of the most recognized symbols in higher education. Imagine the impact it made when three undergrads scaled the icon to hang a homemade “Kill Cal” sign on it prior to an ND-USC football game. It happened in 1965, and Vern Roden ’67 was there. In the book We Are ND: The Story of Notre Dame as Told by Her Alumni, Roden joins more than 70 other alumni in sharing their memories of the moments that shaped their lives while they lived, prayed, learned, and loved at Notre Dame. Jenkins, C.S.C., has appointed an ad hoc committee to review the on-campus safety, security, and hospitality protocols and practices for football weekends (click here to read more about the committee). As part of its work, the committee will consider suggestions and concerns pertaining to the game-day experience that people wish to raise via a dedicated website set up by the University (http://nd.edu/gameday). It also will offer recommendations on how to make football weekends even better for students, faculty and staff, alumni, and all other visitors to campus.

Sharing the History of Our Lady’s University
With the goal of preserving Notre Dame history, the Alumni Association launched the ND Oral History Project last fall — a project that involves recording and sharing the stories of alumni from their time at Notre Dame, as well as their experiences and accomplishments afterwards. These stories not only document the history of Our Lady’s University; they embody the character, tradition, and ideals of the entire Notre Dame family.
Now, the NDAA has launched the ND Oral History website that features some of these edited stories and photos. Each story, which will be available for download here, averages three to four minutes in length. Click here to experience Notre Dame history for yourself! |
