Career Seminars Now Available Online

The Alumni Association has teamed up with the Notre Dame Career Center to offer helpful online career seminars. The presentations for two of these seminars, Updating Your Résumé and Networking 101, are now available online.

Hosted by the Career Center’s associate director, Kevin Monahan, Updating Your Résumé was a half-hour seminar designed to help alumni craft winning résumés. Though originally intended for ND’s Young Alumni, the topics covered in the seminar are relevant to all job seekers. Some of the topics covered include:

• Objective statement vs. summary of qualifications
• Should I include my GPA or activities from college?
• When should I have a two-page résumé?

Networking 101 taught alumni how to tap into "the ND family” to make business connections. The seminar addresses the issue of networking and how it can be an effective career management tool. It led participants through the basics of networking for career exploration and career management. Topics included outreach technique, etiquette, common mistakes, utilizing mentors, and resources available to all ND alumni.
