5 Questions with Chris Zorich 
   In this issue of ND Today, meet Chris Zorich ’91, ’02 J.D., a former Notre Dame football standout who currently mentors Irish student-athletes as the manager of ND’s Student Welfare and Development program. Zorich, a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics, spent seven years in the NFL, and then attended law school at Notre Dame, all the while running the Christopher Zorich Foundation, which offers mentoring, scholarships, food, clothing and toy donations among its array of charitable services. After earning his law degree in 2002, he worked in business enterprise and estate management for a Chicago firm. Here, Zorich sits down with ND Today to answer a few questions:  [Full Story]

Alumni Rally for First Annual Sports Weekend
     More than ­­­­400 Notre Dame alumni and their families came together to enjoy a weekend of Irish hockey and hoops January 9-10. The 2009 Alumni Sports Weekend was an opportunity for alumni to pack the Joyce Center and catch up with fellow Domers, while watching the Irish hockey team take on Alaska, the men’s basketball team rally against Seton Hall, and the women’s basketball team trample Georgetown.  [Full Story]

ND Ranks 14th on 'Best Values' List

   Notre Dame ranks No. 14 on a new list of Best Values in Private Universities for 2008-2009 published by Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine. The schools were selected for providing excellent academics while keeping costs to a minimum. Cal. Institute of Technology in Pasadena, Cal., ranked No. 1. Snite Museum Offers Student Podcasts
   
  Thanks to the students in Professor Chris Clark’s Applied Media Technology class, art exhibits at Notre Dame’s Snite Museum of Art can now be heard as well as seen. The students produced a series of podcasts designed to be published online on a free subscription basis.

Get Hope in Mourning 
  
 With the holidays just behind us and Valentine’s Day on the way, this time of year can be exciting and joyful. But for those who have experienced the death of a loved one, the holidays–or any day—can be a painful reminder of that loss. To help those who have suffered the loss of a parent, spouse, or child, the ND Alumni Association will offer its annual grief workshop, “Hope in Mourning: For Loss of Spouse, Parent, or Child” from April 17-19. The workshop is a place where those who are grieving or mourning can come together to work through their feelings and begin the journey to finding peace. [Full Story]

Watch Lou Holtz and the Irish Legends in Japan Bowl
  
ND alumni are invited to watch the Fighting Irish Legends as they don their golden helmets and defend their alma mater one last time in the Notre Dame Japan Bowl 2009 in Tokyo. The Legends, a squad of former ND football players, will be led by Lou Holtz, former ND head coach and College Football Hall of Fame member. In what Holtz promises will be “one last game,” he will lead the Legends to play in the 55,000-seat Tokyo Dome on Saturday, July 25, 2009. [Full Story
