Law Alums: Last Chance!
When the clock strikes midnight on December 31, the $5-million Eck Law Fellowship Challenge will expire—and, with it, your opportunity to double the impact of your gift in support of fellowships in the Notre Dame Law School.
Under the parameters of this matching gift challenge, all new gifts and pledges toward endowed law fellowships are being matched dollar-for-dollar. Since the Eck Challenge commenced on April 1, 2008, $3.6 million has been contributed for endowed law fellowships—a figure that rises to $7.2 million with matching funds from the estate of Frank Eck Sr. ’44, a prominent University benefactor who died in December 2007.
Gifts or pledges to any endowed law fellowship qualify for an Eck match, including:
- Rev. Michael D. McCafferty, C.S.C., Fellowship
- Professor Edward J. Murphy Fellowship
- Patricia A. O’Hara Fellowship
- Professor Charles E. Rice Fellowship
- Law Class Fellowship Endowments
- Individual Benefactor Fellowship Endowments
With a target of $17 million, of which 59 percent has been raised to date, fellowships are a core component of the Spirit of Notre Dame campaign’s overall goal for the Law School. Within the school, and across the University, financial aid stands as the most critical of all campaign priorities.
To participate in the Eck Challenge with an online gift, simply type “Law School Gift” in the “Comments” section of the online gift form at donate.nd.edu, and indicate which endowed fellowship you wish your contribution to support.
